I've been waiting for Natty Nation's Bob Marley's

Birthday Bash show all year... 🥰😭🔥🎵💃🏾🇯🇲🫂

Last year on this date Shuga Blu had a show at Saint Kate's that ended around 9. I remember the outfit I had on and being so excited to play with the crew then hurry down to the south side to watch my brothers in Natty Nation. It was extremely cold but i didn't wanna miss anything so me and that skirt was in the artic air. I remember being right up front with the homies Ben Jd Stuart Holly and Kenzie and experiencing pure bliss.

I was in a transition that was surprisingly positive and life changing during that time. House sitting for 6 months allowed much needed rest from decades of making ends meet solo. Reggae brought me and the Sadeks together and that's just one reason why I'm a witness to Bob Marley's line, One good thing about music, when it hit you, you feel no pain . My experience living with the Sadeks restored my faith in humanity. Ben and Dora will always have a special place in my heart.

Anyhoo... the maestros of Natty Nation played every single Bob tune like the freakin albums and I was in utter shock... so much so that I didn't record a single piece. I remember standing in awe with happy tears mixing with sweat from picking up one foot after another for what seemed like only a few minutes.

It was like time stopped but sped up at the same time. I'd been moving for hours and did not want the night to end.

My soul was healed thru the integral performance of Bob Marley's most provocative hits, Crazy Baldheads, Exodus, Buffalo Soldier, No More Trouble, Jamming and so many more. The lyrics of these songs sit in my belly like Holy scripture.

Being close to music mates while moving to authentic Bob in Milwaukee Wisconsin burned away deep wounds and replaced them with fresh new memories of joy and purity.

Tonight I'm excited to share this experience with my babygirl, Ben and hopefully a few others. My tummy has then soft warm feeling like walking in my momma’s house and smelling fresh pound cake. I am so happy right now…
